Are Nomads available in stores?
You bet – matter of fact, we are approving more Nomad retailers every week! We are a BIG supporter of local cigar shops. We continue to expand but don’t want to fall into the trap where quality gets sacrificed. As we continue to build production and procure high quality tobacco from some very specific fields, you will see Nomad’s in more and more local stores. You can find a relatively update list here.
Why are my scrambled eggs not fluffy?
You are cooking them too fast. The trick with eggs is to take your time, use more milk (or even add a small splash of water). If you are cooking eggs too fast you decrease the “fluff factor.”
What types of cigars do you make?
As the name “Nomad” suggests, we tend to wander from place to place. It allows me the flexibility to snag great tobacco and/or play with different blends. Right now we have the Dominican classic line, the Dominican Connecticut Fuerte and six blends from Nicaragua (Esteli Lot 1386, S-307, and C-276, and the Therapy line). We also released the San Andres Lancero store exclusive for Stogies H-Town Project.
What about Nomads “Ratings?”
We are honored to be featured on so many “best of” lists in such a short time. At the end of 2013 we have already hit many “top 10” lists of cigars. Although it is all a bit overwhelming, what matters most is what YOU think of the cigar. As the line continues to expand, we hope that we have a cigar that finds a place in your humidor. Check out this year’s lists here.
Are there new blends for 2016?
You bet. I am not ready to retire to the couch and eat Ben & Jerry’s all day. Spent the last year playing with San Andres, so I suspect that will be the first thing you see in 2016.
Why don’t you sell cigars for two dollars a stick?
Ah the ever elusive two-dollar cigar. Frankly, if that is what you are looking for, this is not the place for you. You can find a two-dollar cigar out there…but I don’t really consider them “cigars.” You also have to be comfortable not asking what is actually “in” the cigar (think of hot dogs of the cigar world…there could be just about anything in there).
Hey, we would love to sell a cheaper stick. But like we have said before, the founder is stuck on quality. We think Nomad Cigar Company has one of the best cigars for competitive price. But don’t take our word for it. Just ask any of Nomad’s many raving fans.
What are some important things to look for in tobacco?
Unfortunately, too many cigar makers try and cut corners and fill their cigars with the newer (and much cheaper) tobacco.
Nomad cigars are only rolled with the finest tobacco. It is because of this fact, from time to time, we have a shortage. Bottom line, if the tobacco does not pass inspection, it doesn’t go in the cigar. Quality will never be sacrificed for quantity.
